This is the third generation BMW X1 2019. The smallest SUV of the manufacturer. And this time, big changes happened to him. It is based not on the originally planned rear-wheel drive platform, but on the same 4WD front-wheel drive as the active Tourer MPV 2 Series, Mini Countryman and so on. This implies a transverse arrangement of the engine, which means additional space inside for people and things. BMW claims that the boot has grown by 85 liters (up to 505 liters), all passengers get better head, shoulder and elbow protection, and the rear sofa is much more spacious. In terms of size and space, this small car will compete with larger market players such as the Ford Kuga. It is more expensive than Ford and the manufacturer has equipped it with more sophisticated equipment such as a heads-up display. The real rivals of the X1 are the brand new and really very good Volvo XC40, Jaguar E-Pace, Mercedes GLA and Audi Q3. The manufacturer itself arranges competition between its cars by releasing the X2. This variant is slightly smaller in size, and despite the fact that it looks more "stylish" outwardly - it is almost mechanically identical to the car on which it is based. Thus, the novelty will appeal to practical, but still quite conscious buyers. The 2019 BMW X1 is a completely new model, but its photos and prices are already available. The company has done a good job of covering the important design areas of the refreshed 2019 BMW X1, but the crossover has retained its signature style. As usual, attention is drawn to the inflated air intakes, large alloy wheels and, most interestingly, the twin tailpipes. These design elements draw some parallels with the X1 M Sport version. In addition, many design elements appear to have remained unchanged. The headlights, sidelights and the front grille have really changed. At the rear, the headlights and taillights are also changed, in particular, they look slimmer than before. Individual round clusters of fog lamps are integrated into the main headlamp cluster. The X5 is already being produced with this exterior. No one will be shocked if the updated X1 follows suit. There are no special changes to be expected in the interior. Premium materials, premium leather and all the familiar controls are in the right places. The infotainment screen, traditionally located on the dashboard, looks a little larger than before. The dashboard has gone black, although this is hardly a new development for the crossover, but rather just a practical solution.
